Quack Track ("the App," "we," "us") is a personal collection-tracking app for rubber duck enthusiasts. This page explains what information the App handles and how.
Everything you enter — duck photos, nicknames, dates, GPS coordinates, and notes — is stored locally on your device only. We do not operate a server, and the App does not sync your collection to iCloud or any other cloud service. We never see, receive, or have access to this content.
The App uses your device's camera or photo library only so you can add a photo of a duck (or your Jeep dashboard). Photos are processed entirely on-device, including automatic background removal, using Apple's on-device Vision framework. Photos are never uploaded anywhere.
If a photo includes location data (or you grant Location access), the App uses Apple's Maps service to turn GPS coordinates into a city/state label (e.g., "Fort Collins, CO") for display. This lookup is handled directly by Apple as a first-party service — we do not receive, store remotely, or share your precise location. You can deny or disable Location access at any time in iOS Settings; the App will simply not auto-fill a location.
The App shows a banner ad, served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK), to support free access to the App. Ads are configured as non-personalized — we do not use App Tracking Transparency, and ad personalization is disabled at the SDK level. Google may still collect a device identifier, coarse (city-level) location, ad interaction data, and diagnostic/performance data to serve ads and measure performance. Because personalization is disabled, this data is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Google's use of this information is governed by Google's own policies:
The App does not require you to create an account or sign in, and we do not collect your name, email address, or other contact information through the App itself.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your collection data stays on your device for as long as the App is installed. You can delete individual ducks at any time within the App, or remove all data by deleting the App from your device.
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
